Department of Health statement on NHS Reinstatement Bill

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: NHS, Uncategorized

The Department has responded to the NHS Reinstatement Bill which has been debated in the House of Commons today.

A Department of Health Spokesperson said:

This Government is committed to the NHS and its values and has demonstrated that by investing £10 billion in the NHS’ own plan for the future. The Health and Social Care Act has not only put power in the hands of local doctors and nurses, but is also saving at least £1bn every year – and since then, use of the private sector has slowed, amounting to around six pence in every pound the NHS spends, an increase of just one penny since May 2010.
