George Freeman has been championing the North East as part of the Northern Powerhouse and leading the way in developing new life science innovations.
On a recent visit to Newcastle the Minister saw the pioneering medical technology being created by QuantuMDx. This innovative company is developing a new miniature hand held laboratory which is capable of taking patient samples and producing results within 15 minutes.
The company are developing new tests that could help to provide fast results for diagnosing malaria, infectious diseases and even cancer.
